another comment to the sic assessment

I have just got that information from one person who did the self-assessment:

http://abakhan.blogspot.com/2008/10/self-assesment-quizzes.html

catalog and self assessment

The catalog as well as the methodology were presented and discussed at a vocational school with the following feedbacks from the teachers:

  • handling: good, some misunderstandings regarding the button names practical relevance: very important topic but difficult to transmit to students which do not have a clear understanding of the importance of those things for themselves some
  • website layout is too boring for students, some more graphics would be appreciated
  • words/phrases, such as innovative, morally/ethical, dysfunctional conflicts needs to be explained to students for a common understanding
  • after receiving the self-assessment students did not really understand the result and wanted to have more explanations and general information how to develop their competencies
  • Teachers combined further lessons with some aspects of self and external perception and explained the general procedures of an AC. They will work on the understanding of the competencies and will repeat the self assessments at the end of the school year.

There is a big wish and need for further information about the development of those strategical skills during vocational education.

Pictures

I uploaded pictures from our last project meeting on my flickr account. It was nice meeting you in Nida, hope to see you again in other projects, at other places....

CDs

Yesterday, I have received the CD's with the methodology. Of course, I tried everything and sent the first 25 CDs to a vocational school.

One remark from my side: If you start the CD a web server will be started at your computer. This would be difficult in companies environments because usually their firewalls are configured to not allow this.

Catalog presentation

Attached the short summary of the presentations we had at the American Business School in Paris.

We try to continue in September with the presentation of the assessment methodology.

Translation

I started the translation of the games yesterday because I had a four hours stay on Munich airport and I translated until my batteries were empty...

Dissemination, done and planned

As promised, pour slides for the dissemination and valorisation of the project results.

A short statement about the presentations at ABS Paris will following soon.

Working meeting and some sun

The meeting is nearly over, just one dinner together.
We discussed the methodology from our very different point of views, agreed to one version we are going to prepare, translate and publish. The methodolgy will contain self assessments, including development planning and self evaluation and a description of assessment centres. It will be ready in September 2008.
At the end we saved some time for a short visit to Knossos Palace.

Presentation of SIC catalog at ABS Paris

Last week we had a presentation at American Business School Paris for students on international business administration in the course intercultural management. Isabell will continue tomorrow with another workshop about the topics.

The students, which came from more than 7 different countries, were most interested in differences of cultural behaviour and communication.

Notifyer and blog address

As Ausra wrote, we should try to make the blog more lively and write about our project work.

To make it easier for you to stay informed we integrated a notifyer into that system. If someone publish an entry here you will get an automatic e-mail notification - so now :-)

Another possibility to stay informed (for your clients and for interested people) about latest news are RSS feeds. They can easy subscribe the feeds of the weblog. I'll make a short video description about this weekend.
