The catalog as well as the methodology were presented and discussed at a vocational school with the following feedbacks from the teachers:

• handling: good, some misunderstandings regarding the button names practical relevance: very important topic but difficult to transmit to students which do not have a clear understanding of the importance of those things for themselves some
• website layout is too boring for students, some more graphics would be appreciated
• words/phrases, such as innovative, morally/ethical, dysfunctional conflicts needs to be explained to students for a common understanding
• after receiving the self-assessment students did not really understand the result and wanted to have more explanations and general information how to develop their competencies
• Teachers combined further lessons with some aspects of self and external perception and explained the general procedures of an AC. They will work on the understanding of the competencies and will repeat the self assessments at the end of the school year.

There is a big wish and need for further information about the development of those strategical skills during vocational education.

The meeting is nearly over, just one dinner together.
We discussed the methodology from our very different point of views, agreed to one version we are going to prepare, translate and publish. The methodolgy will contain self assessments, including development planning and self evaluation and a description of assessment centres. It will be ready in September 2008.
At the end we saved some time for a short visit to Knossos Palace.

Last week we had a presentation at American Business School Paris for students on international business administration in the course intercultural management. Isabell will continue tomorrow with another workshop about the topics.

The students, which came from more than 7 different countries, were most interested in differences of cultural behaviour and communication.

At our last meeting in Galway we finished the "Catalog of Individual Strategical Competencies" as the first part of a methodology of the development of strategical individual competencies.  This catalog can be used by managers, students and everybody who is interested in this topic.

A German issue will be available at the beginning of November 2007.

Yesterday, on the first meeting day, we discussed the structure of the catalog and try to find the right words for decribing strategic competencies. It was not easy because some words and phrases are misunderstandable and not clear if you translate them into your mother tongue. But at the end we have got it!

A very deep discussion about the significance of strategic competencies in each country :-)
